WHAT IS THE PROCESS YOU USE TO CLEAN MY GOWN?

Our specialists have several different processes that are used for cleaning. Each gown is evaluated upon its arrival and the best cleaning process for that particular gown is used. All of our processes are safe, gentle and environmentally safe. Your gown is then fitted on an acid-free bust form and packed in our acid-neutral preservation chest. Please note shoulder pads and bust pads must be removed as they could cause damage to the gown over time. They will be wrapped in tissue paper and packed underneath your gown.

CAN I BUY THE KIT AS A WEDDING GIFT?

Absolutely! Brides love receiving preservation kits as a gift. What is even better is if the bride has the kit prior to her wedding, it makes the process that much easier once she is married! Just have the kit shipped to you {or directly to the bride}, and she can have her gown returned to whatever address she wants!

I PURCHASED MY KIT. NOW WHAT?

Once you purchase your bridal gown preservation kit, we will ship you everything you need to send your gown to The Wedding Gown Preservation Company, located in Endicott, New York. Your kit will include a sturdy shipping box, a prepaid UPS shipping label, and other shipping materials. DOES MY PRESERVATION KIT HAVE TO BE SHIPPED TO THE SAME ADDRESS AS MY GOWN?

No, your preservation package will be sent to the address you specify during the ordering process. Your preservation kit will come with an order form, and you can specify where you would like your freshly cleaned and preserved gown shipped.

WHERE IS MY GOWN CLEANED AND PRESERVED?

Bridal Gown Preservation Co. is an authorized dealer of The Wedding Gown Preservation Company. Our services are provided by The Wedding Gown Preservation Company, which was founded in 1913 by Sara and Joseph Schapiro in Endicott, New York. Sara and Joseph specialized in the preservation and alteration of wedding gowns. Together, they created the family formula which is still in use today. They are now a third generation, family-owned business operated by the Schapiro family. They have had generations of brides preserve their gowns with them.

IS PRESERVATION THE SAME AS DRY CLEANING?

No, dry cleaning just handles obvious stains and dirt on gowns. Preservation takes that a step further to protect against fabric yellowing, deterioration, or invisible stains [ahem, champagne] that are likely to surface over time.

WILL YOU BE ABLE TO REMOVE ALL OF MY STAINS?

Our specialists do their best to remove all stains on your gown. We are able to remove approximately 95% of all stains – including tar, blood, perspiration, grass, mud, grease, and food being the most common. We will also do our absolute best to remove any sugar stains from cake icing, wine and other beverages.

MY GOWN NEEDS A MINOR REPAIR. CAN YOU DO THAT?

Wedding Gown Preservation Company prides itself on having a highly trained staff that can handle most repairs for a nominal fee. Please note on your paperwork if you would like a call with a repair quote.

IS MY GOWN GUARANTEED?

YES! We provide a 100 year guarantee against caramelized sugar stains or yellowing. If at anytime your gown is found to have yellowed or has caramelized stains we will reprocess the gown at no additional cost. If reprocessing is found to be unsuccessful we will refund the preservation cost. REMEMBER: Never store your gown in the attic or basement.
